The Johor Education Bureau has sent out 51,519 copies of the Enhanced Literacy and Numeracy course (MoLIB) by teachers College since last month for primary 1 to 3 students facing reading, writing and numeracy (3M) problems.
Executive Councillor for Education, Information, Heritage and Culture in Joo said the curriculum has been adopted in 40 primary literacy and Numeracy (PLaN) test schools, while the Ministry of Education Curriculum Implementation Intensive Curriculum (KPMPerkasaKU) has also been implemented in all primary schools.
Responding to a question from Balalajra ASSEMBLyman Norah Sida at the Johor Assembly, Mr Mazlan said the authorities were committed to providing appropriate courses for lower primary school students to help them master literacy and numeracy during their home-based study period to keep up with their learning progress.
“County education bureaus will also oversee guidance to ensure that the courses are most effective in helping students overcome literacy barriers.”
